Fight Hair Loss Naturally, Safely, with RegenePlex

There are many causes of hair loss in men and women, but by far the most common cause (perhaps 90 percent of all hair loss) is what's known as genetic pattern hair loss, or androgenetic alopecia (AGA). It effects both men and women who are genetically predisposed to it, on either their mother's or father's side, and the onset can begin any time after puberty.

True to it's name, pattern hair loss generally follows a distinct pattern, which is different for men and women. With men, hair loss typically begins on the crown, front hair line and above the temples. With women, hair loss is typically either diffuse throughout the scalp, or begins in the center of the head, from the front to the back, and widens as the situation worsens.

It is generally agreed that in pattern hair loss there is a metabolism whereby the hormone testosterone is converted into the androgen dihydrotestosterone (DHT). The primary agent of this metabolism is the 5-alpha-reductase (5AR) enzyme. DHT damages and eventually destroys hair follicles. Because testosterone is a much more important hormone to men than women, pattern hair loss in men is typically much more severe in men. This metabolism is normal -- DHT plays a role in the development of male characteristics -- but in people genetically predisposed to pattern hair loss, they are aggravated by the DHT produced by the 5AR enzyme residing in scalp follicles.

The pharmacalogical drug finasteride, marketed under the brand name Propecia®, functions as a 5AR inhibitor. (Note: Propecia is a registered trademark of Merck & Co., Inc.). But there are also non-drug, botanically-derived solutions to pattern hair loss, such as RegenePlex, that also are about inhibiting the 5AR enzyme and reversing the metabolism of pattern hair loss.

According to RegenePlex, its all-natural ingredients do not carry the same potential side effects pharmacological drugs such as finasteride and minoxidil -- the only two drugs approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for hair loss treatment.

In addition, RegenePlex says that the safety and efficacy of its product is backed up by clinical research, including a study that was published in the April 2002 edition of the prestigious peer-reviewed The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine.

RegenePlex cautions that there are many products on the market that claim or strongly imply that they are all natural, but that if you look closely, you will find that one of the products in their treatment regimen may contain minoxidil, which serves as a stimulant. And many of the other products that are all natural, are not backed by clinical research. So RegenePlex recommends that consumers do there research carefully before choosing a solution to pattern hair loss.
